During the tour, which was organised through contacts established from officials involved with Chilean clubs that visited the Bay earlier this year, the St John's College teams will play The Grange, Mackay and Trebulco schools.
This will be the St John's College first XV's first international tour since completing an unbeaten trip of Australia in 2013.
Wyatt said players and parents raised more than $50,000 towards the tour with a variety of projects including the clean up after the Mission Concert.
"That level of fundraising has certainly helped bring everyone closer together."
Lock Ben Gardiner will captain the first XV. A son of former Magpies lock Alan Gardiner, 17-year-old Gardiner, was naturally looking forward to the tour before the team's final training session this week.
"It's not often you get these sort of opportunities. South America rugby is so different. We will not only get to play rugby over there but we will experience another culture as well," Gardiner said.
A 2014 Napier Ross Shield rep, Gardiner is planning to attend Lincoln University in Canterbury next year and study business or engineering.
He intends to play rugby there before eventually returning to the Bay to play for Napier Old Boys Marist.
Fellow Year 13 student and halfback Mitch McLeod is one of Gardiner's vice-captains.
A Hastings West Ross Shield rep in 2013 and '14 and former Hawke's Bay Ross Shield and under-14 rep, McLeod, 17, is a son of former Magpies first five-eighth Ross McLeod.
"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Judging by what we experienced when having some hit outs against the Chile lads here in the Bay earlier in the year we should have some good games," McLeod said.
He intends to study architecture at Victoria University next year.
"We will see how university goes before I decide where I will go and play rugby after that," McLeod added.
One of four Hawke's Bay Academy squad players in the St John's College first XV, centre Max Ireland, is the other vice-captain.
"I think the cultural experience is going to be huge in Chile especially going there around Easter and experiencing all the Catholic traditions."
"As for the rugby side of things, it is going to be tough because we can't understand what they are saying. When we had a hit out against a few of the Chile lads in January we saw how they loved their rucks and how forward orientated they are. So we've done a lot of work aimed at combating that," Ireland, a product of the Havelock North club's JAB system, explained.
The former Hawke's Bay under-18 squad member and Hawke's Bay under-16 rep plans to study psychology at Victoria University next year.
