Police are investigating Dannevirke's second aggravated robbery in less than 48 hours, after Four Square staff were threatened with a crowbar on Saturday night.
A male entered the High St store about 8.35pm, armed with a crowbar, and demanded cash. A police dog unit was called in to help track the robber, and a small amount of cash found nearby was believed to be linked to the incident.
It was the second aggravated robbery in Dannevirke in days, following an armed hold-up at Caltex Westlow late Thursday night. Two people pointed a pistol at the attendant before taking off with cash and cigarettes. No one was hurt in that incident.
Two staff members were in the Four Square at the time of Saturday's robbery, but neither was injured, police said.
And while police see no link in the two robberies, some Dannevirke businesspeople are feeling unsettled.
