A black labrador was rescued from under a bridge on Iona Rd this morning and veterinary staff are desperately trying to find its owner.
The black lab was freezing in the water when she was found and pulled to safety at 8am before being taken to VetEnt in Havelock North.
She is a female and although her age is not known, she appears to be an older dog, as she has a grey muzzle.
VetEnt nurse Rochelle Graham said the dog didn't have a microchip and she wasn't wearing a council tag either.
However she was wearing a black collar with faded coloured paw prints. The most distinguishing features was that she has bald patches on her back above her hind legs.
