A person has been rescued after falling down a cliff in Hastings earlier today.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Maraekakaho about 6.30pm this evening.
A fire services spokesman said a person had fallen over a cliff near Aorangi Rd. Two fire appliances from the Hastings Fire Service attended the scene, as did a line rescue crew.
By 9.30pm the person had been rescued, using guy ropes and lines, and was then assessed by St Johns Ambulance staff.
During the rescue the person was believed to be not seriously injured, as they were still conscious and talking to the rescue crew.
