"At the finish line we've got heaps going on this year."
The Mega Walk was 28km from Mitre 10 Mega in Hastings to Mitre 10 Mega Napier, but there are a number of shorter walks for people of different abilities.
The Half Mega is a 15km walk starting at Awatoto, the Short Mega is 6.5km from Ocean Spa on Marine Parade, and the Mega Meander is 3.5km.
Age was no barrier to participation, Ms George said.
"We had an 86-year-old guy do the Short Mega last year - hopefully he'll be back this year."
One Mitre 10 staff member who could not take part in the walk this year has committed to walking 28km on the treadmill at a gym.
Spot prizes will be given out on the day, with prizes at the finish line for wackiest costume, biggest corporate team and biggest whanau team.
Previous Mega Walks have raised more than $120,000 for Canteen, a charity which supports young people with cancer.
Entry fees are $20 for adults, $10 for seniors and under-15s and free for under-5s.
Family passes for two adults and two children are also available for $40.
Special buses will be running to take people to and from the event's starting and finishing points. Passes can be pre-purchased with registration for $3.
Participants are encouraged to ask family and friends to sponsor their walk and they can register in-store at Mitre 10 or at megawalk.co.nz
The Mega Walk will leave from Mitre 10 Hastings at 7.30am on Sunday, November 5.
