He was hoping for more rain but said it did not take long to evaporate at this time of year.
Mr Law said, unfortunately for farmers, easterly winds will change to a north westerly, with rain expected to decrease towards the weekend.
"With a north westerly you get protection from the western ranges, bringing clearer weather," he said.
Saturday would bring patchy drizzle and light winds but by Sunday afternoon it would be clear skies and fine weather.
Though the rain was set to disappear the humid temperatures would continue over the weekend.
"The temperature will reach the mid-20s, giving off a rather muggy feel," Mr Law said.
