It may have felt like a decent downpour for most but it was no more than a heavy dew for Hawke's Bay farmers.
MetService meteorologist John Law said "the persistent easterly winds pushed cloud and rain over the region, producing the grey and humid weather."
Yesterday the Hawke's Bay ranges got 20mls of rainfall. The town centres had lower levels with Napier getting 15mls and Hastings just 5mls.
Local farmer and Te Mata Park Trust Chairman Bruce Chambers said he only received 3mls.
"What we had last night won't make a difference."
