Hawke's Bay Racing general manager Andrew Castles had good reason to celebrate following Ishinktaatledo's maiden win at New Plymouth on Thursday of last week.
Castles shares in both the ownership and the breeding of the Shinko King mare and thinks she has a good future on the racetrack.
"It was only her fourth start and the first time she has struck a reasonably good track," Castles said this week.
"It was trainer error that she was running during the winter months as she couldn't cope with those heavy tracks.
"She has come back a lot stronger after a short break and I think she can go on with it now."
Ishinktaatledo was forced to cover plenty of extra ground in the 1400m event and kept up a strong run in the home straight to win by a length from Decades, with 2 and 3/4 lengths back to third-placed Choux Play.
Ishinktaatledo is trained at New Plymouth by Allan Sharrock, who also shares in the ownership of the mare with Christchurch-based Dean McKenzie and two Auckland men, Gary Milne and Paul Baker.
The five bred her out of Taatledoya, a Faltaat mare that won two races before an injury ended her career on the track. She was thought highly enough of that she lined up in the 2009 running of the Group 1 New Zealand Oaks (2400m).
Thatstheticket, another of Taatledoya's progeny, has had five starts for a win, two seconds, a third and a fourth from five starts. He hasn't raced since winning a maiden race over 1600m at Trentham in April and is likely to do his future racing in Australia.
"He was on the same plane as Kawi when he was flown to Melbourne last week and is going to join the stable of Brett Scott over there," Castles said.
"We've retained an interest in him and Scotty has arranged a group of others to take the majority share."
Taatledoya has also produced an unraced 2-year-old colt by Zed and a yearling filly by Road To Rock and was served last year by Keeper.
