Those who regularly use council gym equipment in Hastings' Queens Square may have to cut back their workout, for a while at least.
"Two pieces of gym equipment have been removed [from the park] to allow the buffers on each of the items to be replaced," Hastings District Council parks service delivery business unit general manager Rod Sheridan said.
Buffers on the Horse Rider/Skier, Air Walker/Dip machine and the Crunch Station were used to restrict movement of the equipment, but were showing signs of wear and had to be fitted with an improved mechanism.
"The work is unable to be completed with the equipment on site and it has now been removed and sent to the manufacturer in Wanganui," he said.
