The Hawke's Bay Festival of Hockey continued to deliver as four more games of the Affiliates Tournament put the crowd on the edge of their seats at Park Island yesterday.

Despite the less than pleasant weather conditions, with just minutes to go before fulltime, the New Zealand Senior XI team fought back and managed to score two goals - levelling the match with Hawke's Bay Senior Men.

Pip Lunn and Stacey Lloyd, from the New Zealand Senior Women's Team, were excited to see how the men's side were going throughout the tournament, after just having come from two wins themselves - against the New Zealand Maori Team and the New Zealand Indians.

"I think it's a bloody good game. We will follow the tournament until the end, especially the women's and men's senior teams," Mrs Lunn said.

Natalie Hughes was supporting the Hawke's Bay Team, and said the game could have gone either way.

"The New Zealand Senior Team have had some really good shots at goal, but just missed. It has been really close," Mrs Hughes said. Her son, Regan Hughes, had scored the first two goals of the match and she was proud of her him.

"Its been a very fast and exciting game," she said.

MetService said the weather was expected to clear on Saturday afternoon.
