Police continue to investigate and ask for any public assistance and information about the sexual assault on a teenage girl in Cornwall Park in Hastings last weekend.
The 14-year-old girl was walking through Cornwall Park on Sunday night about 8.30pm with a friend before parting company and carrying on alone through the park.
Police have reported shortly after leaving her friend the young victim was accosted by two men and taken against her will to a secluded part of the park where she was assaulted.
Neighbours around the park have told Hawke's Bay Today areas of the park become extremely dark due to heavy foliage late in the day.
A scene examination was carried out on Monday as police tried to piece together the events leading to the attack.
