Napier resident Halie Macale snapped this shot of a pod of Hector's dolphins swimming next to the commercial fishing boat she was working on Saturday morning.

Macale said about six dolphins were spotted while she was three nautical miles off the coast of Napier shortly before 11am.

"They came right next to the boat.

"I see them quite a bit, last week I took photos of a group of 30-40."
