Tahu Kai: an Old World Maori Cuisine Experience at Sileni Estates Winery was also particularly well received due to chef Monique Fiso's ability to create traditional and delicious dishes, Ms Dundas said.
Although most events over the next month had sold out people would not miss out on delicious cuisine because of FAWC! by 5 which had various eateries offering special and cheap menus throughout the event.
"If people still haven't bought tickets they won't miss out on good food and wine because of FAWC! by 5," Ms Dundas said.
"There are plenty of options and still a few tickets left for some events."
Winter FAWC! kicked off with a black-tie dinner at The Old Church, Napier, on Friday.
Ms Dundas said the affair kept growing in popularity each year, with 2017 being the largest so far at 64 events.
"We've certainly attracted lots of attention which is fantastic."
The celebration of food and wine had also been extended this year to accommodate British and Irish Lions rugby fans visiting the region and is listed on the official Lions website.
"We're certainly hoping to see some rugby fans," Ms Dundas said.
Next weekend people could look forward to London-based Kiwi chef Peter Gordon's two events, Fine Wine & Dine and Savour with Peter Gordon, which were highlights of this year's festival, she said.
