A person has been arrested after fleeing the scene of a fiery crash near Hastings.
Police were called about 1am on Friday, when a car went through a give way sign, crashed, and caught fire. The incident occurred in Paki Paki, where Maraekakaho Road meets the Hawke's Bay Expressway.
Theoccupants of the car fled the scene on foot, a police spokesperson said.
An arrest was made in relation to the incident. Further information was not immediately available.
