1. Matariki Festival
Come along to the free Maori new year family celebration at the Napier Soundshell, Marine Parade. There's singers, dancers, kapa haka, bands and more. Free kiddies' rides and hot Kiwi kai are on offer. Walk through the maze of candle lanterns. Sky lanterns will float skywards to give thanks for the harvest and the "new year" planting season. The show ends with a spectacular fireworks show to Maori and Pasifika music. Napier Soundshell, Marine Parade, Napier. Today 3-7pm.
2. Screenprinting
This workshop introduces practical techniques of screenprinting, including how to make a screen, how to use light-sensitive emulsion and how to print on to paper or a fabric surface. 3. Divine Light Sounding
Come to the beautiful Temple of Sound and feel your Angelic Vibration with the channelled Light Language, Divine Song and Sonic Soundings which are like rolling waves of sound, each one carrying you towards your embodiment of divine light here on Earth. This will be an hour-long sound ceremony with voice and silence to rejoice in the winter solstice and to anchor that light in Hawke's Bay.
