The Ngati Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated Board has appointed a new general manager.
The appointment of Chrissie Hape to the role was made shortly after the announcement of former iwi chief executive Dr Adele Whyte's resignation in May.
Ngati Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated Board chair Ngahiwi Tomoana said they were very fortunate to have Ms Hape on the team.
"On behalf of the board and staff, I congratulate Chrissie for accepting this position and look forward to working alongside her expertise.
"The executive decision was made by the board to appoint a general manager for the next 12 months to help see the office through a transitional stage of growth and empowerment to strengthen greater relationships with partners that will create best outcomes for our whanau, hapu, iwi."
In a year the chief executive position will be advertised.
In November 2014, Ms Hape was seconded from the Ministry of Social Development to work as a partner adviser between the ministry and the iwi to support outcomes for whanau.
