The answer to curly questions has arrived. A facilitator is visiting Hawke's Bay businesses to help explain the new web-based service Global Expert, provided by the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology.
The Government service helps businesses present their problem or need and then asks for assistance from a network of more than 20,000 New Zealand and international experts from universities, research institutions and companies around the world.
Within 10 to 15 working days, businesses received a search report which included a list of related experts, capability summaries, contact details and supporting information.
There are no forms to fill out, and businesses may be eligible to apply for funding to help pay for the recommended expert.
Global Expert promised to validate new technologies, assess market opportunities, find new suppliers, solve technical challenges and guide product and process development.
It has had some impressive endorsements from New Zealand users.
The service's Derrick Russell is in Hawke's Bay next Wednesday to meet businesses. A second visit to the Bay is also planned.
The services are open to all New Zealand registered businesses.
To make an appointment to meet him at your business contact Jenny Brown at Venture Hawke's Bay on 06 833-5895 or jennyb@venturehawkesbay.co.nz
