David Oliver has been appointed the new Principal of Taradale High School, replacing Stephen Hensman who leaves the school next month after 13 years at the helm.
Oliver, who originally comes from Scotland, is currently the Deputy Principal at Pakuranga College in Auckland and has previously worked at Epsom Girls' Grammar School and James Cook High School.
He started his career in Fife, Scotland in 1998 and worked for two schools there for nearly six years.
Taradale High School Board of Trustees chair, Liz Read said Oliver was highly regarded and that after a very robust recruitment process, the Board is thrilled "to have appointed someone of David's calibre and we look forward to him continuing the traditions of the school and taking it to new heights."
Oliver, who has a Master of Educational Leadership degree from Auckland University of Technology, and a Master of Science degree (Heriot Watt University, Scotland), said he was delighted to be coming to such a highly-regarded school as Taradale High School.
