After several years of having no formalised Christmas festival, Napier City Business Inc in conjunction with Creative Napier, Napier Inner City Churches and Napier Rotary, are bringing an afternoon of Christmas celebrations to the people of Hawke's Bay.
Following public demand for the return of the parade, the rejigged family-focused Santa's Workshop-themed Christmas costume parade will take place from 2pm on Saturday, December 6, beginning at the Sound Shell and making its way down Emerson St, to conclude at Clive Square.
Organisers say with prize money in the hundreds for the three age group categories (0-6 years, 7-12 years and 12+ years), along with the group (4+ people) category, it is a great opportunity for schools, friends, families and community groups to dress up and celebrate the festive spirit.
Entrants can expect to be joined in the parade by the Napier Boys' Funk Band, stilt walkers, local mascots and others.
Registration before the big day is important and can be done at admin@napierinthecity.co.nz.
