Yesterday's Waitangi Day weather did not disappoint, with Napier taking out the top spot as the "warmest place in the country" at 30.3C by mid-afternoon.
Hastings wasn't far behind, reaching 27C, while Wairoa hit 25.3C.
Although, this is all set to change for the remainder of the week, with a southerly change expected to bring cloud and the chance of showers.
MetService meteorologist Claire Flynn said this would cause temperatures to dip quite a bit, with the high in Napier looking to hit only 21C as opposed to the 30C-plus felt yesterday.
"It was a nice day for Waitangi Day in Hawke's Bay but there is some wet weather coming," Ms Flynn said.
