A proposal to ban car washing from Napier driveways has attracted opponents including one man who says it would remove "one of the last joys of life".
Napier City Council's proposed Stormwater Bylaw 2019 has a requirement that no one allows any chemical, including detergents, to enter the stormwater network, Stuff reported.
That includes car wash detergents, which the council says can be fatal to aquatic life.
