Interim name suppression for a Hawke's Bay man accused of possessing and distributing child pornography has lapsed.
Hawke's Bay Today can now reveal that Beaudene Justin Bliss, 37, faces one representative charge of possessing objectionable publications, approximately 22,000 electronic files, and five charges of distributing such publications.
Bliss had previously pleaded not guilty to one charge of sexual conduct with a child under 12 and two charges of possession of a knife, with a judge-alone trial elected.
He appeared via audio visual link in the Hastings District Court yesterday represented by defence lawyer Paul Chambers, who indicated his client would be pleading not guilty and electing a jury trial at his next appearance.
Bliss will next appear in the Hastings District Court on March 16 where it is expected he will enter not guilty pleas to the remaining charges and elect a jury trial.
