Based in the historic town of Norsewood in the old epicentre of the village, The Old Dairy Factory not only produces national quality house concerts for the community, it also churns out music online with the inhouse record company, New Frontier Records.
This is a label that has been producing since 1986, starting in London with cast recordings of shows and radio releases. One of its pioneers, David Selfe, brought the company with him to Auckland when he and his family emigrated. Having then moved to Norsewood to "enjoy the good life", he moved the studio into the Old Dairy Factory.
Since then he has been busy helping local, national and international artists, one of those being Elijah Graham, by recording their music.
Recently, one of New Frontier's artists Graham Wardrop (a guitarist from Christchurch), has been picked up by Spotify for his Beatles album and added to their playlists of popular music that people like to stream.
David is delighted to have his recordings recognised by such international forces in the music industry.
