The Hawke's Bay Serious Crash Unit is seeking help from the public as it continues to investigate the crash which killed father of six Matthew Kyte in Napier last month.
Kyte was the only occupant of the car when it crashed into a tree on Lamason St at about 4.10am on Saturday, September 16.
Senior Constable Tim Rowe said inquiries to date had identified that Kyte was seen by and interacted with members of the public in Hastings St, Napier, and was also at the Z Energy on Kennedy Rd between 3am and 3.15am that morning.
His dark blue Toyota Prado station wagon was last seen heading along Kennedy Rd towards the Napier CBD about 3.15am.
Brother Daniel Kyte said they hoped the circumstances behind the crash would be known so there could be some closure.
