Hawke's Bay Tourism general manager Annie Dundas is one of many buzzing with excitement about what's yet to come, starting with Phil Collins.
"I'm definitely going. He's a legend," she says, "because he's such a huge artist, I don't think there's going to be a huge change in terms of people taking time off or affecting school holidays.
"He hasn't toured a whole lot, so I think people are going to be lucky to get their tickets, I think he's one of the biggest artists we've seen at the Mission for a while and I think it's fantastic for Hawke's Bay."
In terms of tourism, Dundas says it's just another chance for tourists to make another visit to the region in February.
"It's still going to be a really beautiful summer and we've just got a line of events coming up, like Art Deco week which starts on the Wednesday/Thursday of that week.
"I think the fact that it's a public holiday is also very helpful, as it just gives people an extra break."
Phil Collins turns 68 in 2019, as does Napier Mayor Bill Dalton who will be attending the concert.
"He's of a very good vintage," he says.
"We are as a council are very committed to bring events to Hawke's Bay, they do so much for the region.
Hastings Mayor Sandra Hazlehurst says the artist's appearance in Hawke's Bay says a lot about the team at the Mission Estate Winery and the Hawke's Bay region itself.
"It is absolutely fantastic for our region that the Mission Estate concert promoters have managed to attract an artist of his calibre. Phil Colins is iconic and such a well-known and well-loved musician.
"It's great for the region's economy as a whole when we can host so many outstanding and diverse events, which really put Hawke's Bay on the map. The whole region will be buzzing."
While Phil Collins' appearance is expected to bring thousands to the region, Hawke's Bay is going to be a fairground of activity from early 2019.
American rock band Toto are making a grand return to New Zealand, playing at Church Road Winery on January 10.
The Black Caps will face off against India on January 23 while the White Ferns v India will follow shortly after on January 24. Both games are at McLean Park.
Music fans will be drawn back to Church Road once more as English reggae and pop band UB40 are playing in Napier on January 25.
The streets of Napier will then be bursting with vintage cars, feathered headbands and jazz music, as Art Deco week kicks off from February 14 to 17.
Thrillseekers will then be blown away by flame throwing, arm chair blasting, BMX biking Nitro Circus, which is coming to McLean Park on March 17.
"The first day of ticket sales for the Napier event was the best sales day in the history of Nitro Circus," says Dalton.
The region will also be cluttered with horse floats from equestrian lovers as the Horse of the Year Show gets underway from March 12 to 17 at Tomoana Showgrounds.
