Hawke's Bay can expect a miserable start to the weekend as awful weather from the south heads its way up the North Island.
A MetService spokeswoman said most of Hawke's Bay will have a rainy weekend, but some areas will be worse than others.
"The majority of Hawke's Bay will get a pretty consistent bout of showers over Friday and Saturday, but those up in the Wairoa District and in the ranges will get heavy and constant rainfall for most of the weekend."
The rain would bring uncomfortably muggy conditions as well, she said.
"Napier and Hastings will be getting temperatures around 22-24C on Saturday and Sunday, so with that and the wet weather there will be some muggy and humid days in store."
