Two men were arrested in Napier today for importing methamphetamine, valued at about $200,000.
Following an investigation by the Eastern District Organised Crime Unit and New Zealand Customs a 45-year-old and 31-year-old were charged with the importation of 236 grams of methamphetamine.
Detective senior sergeant Brent Greville said the investigation into methamphetamine-related offending would continue to be the primary focus of the Eastern District Organised Crime Unit.
"The people that choose to distribute this insidious drug can expect to be put before the courts and be held accountable for the misery they inflict on our society."
The two men are scheduled to appear in the Hastings District Court tomorrow and are also facing charges related to possession of Class A and Class B drugs.
