A woman was arrested after a man was stabbed during an alleged domestic violence incident at the Anvil Court Motor Lodge in Hastings.
A police spokesperson said the police were advised by St John Ambulance at about 7am that a male had been stabbed at the motor lodge on Karamu Rd North.
The woman was known to the man who was transported in a serious condition to Hawke's Bay Hospital with lacerations to his head and arm.
A 31-year-old woman was arrested and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
No one else was being sought in relation to the incident, and the woman was due to appear in the Hastings District Court on April 21.
