A 40-year-old man appeared in court following an incident in Napier in which a woman was allegedly kidnapped.
A police spokesperson confirmed they were called to a scene in the suburb of Greenmeadows where a woman was allegedly forced into a car about 6.20pm on Thursday night.
"The male and the victim were located in a vehicle shortly after, the male was arrested and the victim was unharmed," police said.
The man appeared in court on Friday and was granted interim name suppression.
He has been charged with kidnapping and aggravated burglary offences.
He will reappear in the Napier District Court on December 18.
