All 100 dancers and crew involved in the Melissa Martin Academy of Dance end-of-year production are local, something to be proud of, dance teacher Melissa says.
A Literary Twist, takes well-known books and puts them to dance and song which indirectly relate. But be aware, Miss Martin said, there's plenty of twists.
"We've more than 50 items in the show, but just two pieces of classical music," she said. "There is everything from the Wiggles to Alice Cooper and Tom Jones, a really eclectic mix."
And those twists include Puss 'N Boots, to the music of These Boots are Made for Walking, Lord of The Rings, accompanied by Beyonce's Put a Ring on It and many more.
Miss Martin's sister, Morgan Kernaghan, has spent hours on artwork and she and sister Alex have produced 95 per cent of the choreography for the show. "This really is a show for locals by locals, including our crew," Miss Martin said. "Some of the costumes are pretty neat too as we've brought them in from the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom. And of course our dancing dads are set to raise the roof of the Town Hall once again."
