Emergency services are checking over a light plane that crashed on the runway at Hawke's Bay Airport this morning.
Passengers at the airport terminal saw the plane come in to land about 9am but the wheels did not come down.
One man said it came down in a straight line.
"It was almost perfect."
He saw a man walk out of the plane. It appeared he was unhurt.
