With all the talk about having a huge act at the Mission next year one would have thought it was going to be something new and exciting like a Paul McCartney, David Bowie, or even a Roger Waters, something we hadn't seen before.
But, no, we get the same old crooner who was here seven years ago. Yes, Rod Stewart is huge but do we really need to see him again? Leftovers taste great the second time around but it kind of gets a little bit boring after a while.
The tickets will sell-out again like they did the first time and sell-out is the key word here, come on people is this the best you can do for the 20th anniversary? I'm sure I'm not the only person who is a little bit disappointed. It's accepted that the Mission Concerts cater for a certain generation and that's a given but maybe it's time for a change or something fresh.
I won't be stumbling over greedy people's tarpaulins and buying the cheap wine at ludicrous prices and waving my lighter while Rod croons through his greatest hits again.
