Many women approach the protesters at the hospital and speak of the grief they are suffering after abortion.
We are not standing in judgment, our sympathy goes out to these women. We are happy to refer anyone to post-abortion counselling.
It is presumptuous for R White to say we would not take a baby to prevent it from being aborted, we will gladly take any baby to save its precious life.
There are also thousands of families that would love to adopt a baby and provide a loving home.
It is a national tragedy that many of the 16,630 unborn babies destroyed in 2010 were not made available for adoption.
In 1969 there were 2500 adoptions, in 2010 there were only 40 babies adopted.
Why are abortion counsellors not promoting adoption?
Why is the Government actively promoting abortion over adoption?

We'll raise them
Responding to R White's letter on Saturday, February 11 - "Zealots are at it again".
I want to thank R White for giving the opportunity to make a massive correction about the perception that anti-abortionists run from caring for, adopting, or raising babies that would be aborted.
Let it be known to all that Riverbend Bible Church people (over 150 families) will not only nurture and raise every baby rather than it be aborted, but also give counselling, care and nurture to the mother before and after the birth as long as she needs it.
RUSSELL HOHNECK, Pastor, Riverbend Bible Church
Good deed noted
I would like to comment on the action of a young Taradale High School student I saw while driving down Gloucester St on Tuesday not far from the Bellvue Dairy on Tuesday afternoon.
There was a flattened cardboard box on the road and he went out of his way to remove it from the path of traffic and dispose of it in a bin.
Well done! I hope this lad goes far.

Death toll wrong
Your article entitled "Anger over Maori Holocaust comment" (page 2, February 8) needs correction.
While I do agree with Stephen Goodman's views, it is your "death toll" figurers that need correction.
More than 7,250,000 people were murdered in the Nazi death camps, 6,000,000 of them Jews.
Among the other 1,000,000 plus that died were gypsies of Central Europe, homosexuals, captured members of underground organisations, other civilians who helped Allied personnel escape - be they Kiwis in Greece or airman shot down over Denmark, Holland, Belgium and France. Also, a number of captured allied soldiers including Americans died in the camps.
This is by no means a complete list of categories of people who died in the death camps and I don't expect the detail of the Gentiles who died at the hands of the Nazis to necessarily be known or published, but as a senior member of the establishment media in New Zealand I do expect that you should never be in a position to publish incorrect figures about the Holocaust, ie: "That more than 7,000,000 were murdered in the Nazi death camps and that 6,000,000 of them were Jews."JOHN McCORMICKWaipukurau Proud day for school Congratulations to the Napier Girls' High School prefects for 2012. We attended the Founders Day assembly celebrating 128 years of education. What a proud day for the school, Napier and especially parents of the elected prefects.
The only dampener on the day for prefect parents (even though raining) was returning to our vehicles to be greeted by parking tickets. For one hour once a year - shame on you, Napier City Council or whoever complained!
