The final round of interviews for Rugby World Cup volunteers in Hawke's Bay will take place next week with organisers still seeking people for transport, catering and tourist information.
"We are proud to be hosting two exciting pool matches during RWC 2011 and the world will be watching our region," chairman of the Regional Co-ordination Group Ross Bramwell said.
"This is a great opportunity to help New Zealand put on a world-class tournament and be part of the RWC 2011 action."
Mr Bramwell said hundreds of volunteers had been interviewed but positions were still to be filled.
He said prospective volunteers could pick the area they would like to be involved in and would receive full training. Those chosen would be expected to work at least seven days during the six-week tournament, usually between four and eight hours a day.
Volunteers had to be at least 17 years of age due to police check requirements.
The interviews would take place at the Chapman Stand, McLean Park, between 11.30am and 2pm, and 4pm to 7pm, on Monday, February 21, and Tuesday, February 22, he said.
"Let's make sure we show off our city, and the entire country, at its best. In Hawke's Bay we are well known for our warm welcome and hospitable people. Now is our chance to show the world just how great a place we have here."
