When the call went up for socks for the firefighters battling the Nelson blazes, Norsewood's Kiwi Sock Company didn't hesitate because three of the staff are volunteer firefighters.
"We received the call for socks from PGG Wrightson, one of our biggest customers and we were happy to send 250 pairs of Merino socks, along with stubbie holders, T-shirts and mints," Kiwi Sock Company manager, Steve Culevski, told the Dannevirke News.
"We just knew we had to help out the brave, hardworking men and women fighting the fires."
But this isn't something new for the company. It supports a number of causes, including donating after the Kaikoura earthquake.
