Give your bike a spring makeover and head to Havelock North for the annual fair.

There will be a themed parade to start the day, with people encouraged to get creative and dress up in anything that reminds them of spring - from bouncing baby lambs to bright yellow daffodils.

Kids from 4 to 12 years old can try out the iWay Junior Bike Buzz Obstacle Course, while those looking for a challenge can try Bike Polo.

Ten obstacles will be set up around a field between Havelock North High School and Intermediate, including steps, bubbles, as well as stations to test dart and ball throwing skills.

People can tackle the course from 10am tomorrow, with a secure bike lock-up available.

Bike Polo is a five-aside game which requires the rider to hit a ball with a hockey stick past the other team and into a goal.

"There's a local club, who will be running the event for us on the netball courts from 10.30am," Spring Fair convener Chris Sanders said. "They are going to bring some bikes and start off with some demonstrations."

Spot prizes donated by Hastings District Council's iWay initiative will be awarded to Bike Polo and obstacle course competitors throughout the day.

"They also donated a bike to give away, everybody pays a gold coin and then gets a ticket, the bike will be drawn about 1.30pm on the main stage."

Organisers expect to draw a large crowd to the event, which will go ahead rain or shine.
