A teenager serving a life sentence for murder is facing a charge of indecently assaulting a female prison officer at Hawke's Bay Hospital.
The man, whose name cannot yet be published for legal reasons, is alleged to have pinched the officer's bottom.
Now in Paremoremo, he appeared via audio-visual link before Judge Max Courtney in Hastings District Court yesterday and through lawyer Matt Dixon pleaded not guilty and was remanded for a further appearance via AVL on August 26.
The man also faces one charge of assault with intent to injure, and jointly with two others a charge of assault arising from other incidents in Hawke's Bay Prison. He has not yet pleaded to those charges.
