The Puketapu based family owned winery that continues to push the boundaries in wine crafting has just recorded another international accolade with its 2016 Estate Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc chosen as the outstanding wine under $80 in China's 9th annual Golden Bottle Awards.
The awards are conducted by the highly respected and influential WINE Magazine, and attended by the who's who of Asia's wine society and business community with more than 600 wines put forward for judging from around the globe.
Speaking on receipt of the award, winemaker and owner Dan Barker said "This is a special accolade for Moana Park as we strive for leadership in crafting superb natural wines that are vegan and vegetarian friendly from sustainably farmed outstanding fruit with the chemistry being that which the earth and climate put in."
Moana Park submitted seven wines for this prestigious event; the Sauvignon Blanc nailing Gold whilst the other six all were awarded either Silver (2016 Estate Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer along with the 2014 SVR Merlot) or Bronze (all 2015 SVR Pinot Noir, Syrah and Cabernet Merlot) accolades.
