An independent investigation into the police shooting of Chazz Hall has found that police were justified in shooting him and acted "swiftly and appropriately" to the situation.
Hall, who had earlier shot and killed his former partner Victoria Foster at an address in Napier, recieved several serious injuries as a result of being shot at by police in Clive on 26 October 2015.
Yesterday the Independent Police Conduct Authority released a report finding that members of the Hawkes Bay Armed Offenders Squad (AOS) were justified in shooting him.
Police were first alerted to the incident at 8.55pm where a relative of Hall phoned in and told them he had just received a call during which Hall had told him he shot his girlfriend.
A crime scene was established when Ms Foster was dead in her kitchen with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound and the entire Hawke's Bay AOS was called out.
