Hawke's Bay Police are appealing for information after launching a homicide inquiry into the death of a Flaxmere man.
Detective Sergeant Craig Vining from Hawke's Bay Police confirmed an inquiry was underway after a man found with unexplained injuries in Diaz Drive, Flaxmere on November 16 died from his injuries.
"The victim, a 45-year-old Flaxmere man, was found in Diaz Drive with significant facial injuries just after midnight on 16 November."
The man was today named as Edward Anthony Peters, known as Eddie.
"He passed away in Wellington Hospital this morning, with his whanau by his side.
"Police would like to hear from anyone who has information which could assist our investigation.

Police today undertook door-to-door inquiries at houses around the scene.
