Holy Trinity Bazaar and Spring Flower Show

Beautiful early season irises.

A sunny spring day helped draw a crowd to Woodville's Holy Trinity Anglican Church Hall on Saturday, September 12, where they found tables laden with baking, sweets, produce, plants, crafts and raffles.

A large selection of beautiful blooms filled the centre of the hall so no one could mistake the day for anything but the church's bazaar and flower show.

Local artists Turia Brackenbury and Malcolm Stuart showed some of their work, adding amazing creativity to the bright colours and floral scents filling the hall.

One of the organisers, Rev Rosie McMillan said, "We were a bit worried this year with Covid making the show a bit later than usual and the recent bad weather, but in the end there was nothing to worry about. The Lord smiled on us with the sun in all its glory and the wonderful community coming out to support us.

"The bazaar has been held for around 130 years and is as much a community event as a fundraiser. It was simply marvellous!"

In the flower show, the 2020 Champion Bloom was won by Sue Ladd and Marilyn Blatchford won the Margaret Pinfold Memorial Trophy for most points in show.

The Anglican Women's Group wish to thank Turia and Malcolm for the exhibition, and everyone who came along to make it a fantastic day.
