When bad weather this year caused Hohepa's annual March Fair to be cancelled, the disability service provider, which caters for special needs children and adults, lost not just an opportunity for fundraising, but a chance for its crafters to see their work on display.
Their chance has come this weekend, however, as in a show of support, New Zealand Craft and Design Show has offered stall spaces for Hohepa at its event this weekend.
Regular visitors to the Hohepa March Fair will be happy to see some of the trademark crafts - candles, woodwork and woven articles - for sale.
This event is also an opportunity for Hohepa's crafters to see their products alongside fellow artisans and designers from the area.
At Hohepa there is a strong emphasis on the social, natural and therapeutic elements involved in producing work, which is shared in the community through such an event.
