Demolition of Napier Hospital will wrap up next month, changing the face of Hill forever. Razing of the clinical services tower block on Napier Hill is part of the development of a new, high-quality residential community.
"The demolition work began in May and has taken about a month longer than initially expected due to adverse weather conditions, including rain and high winds," said Todd Property managing director Evan Davies.
Once the residual material from the buildings had been removed and the site tidied, the next step in the plan to transform the site into a residential development would be considered.
"We know there is strong interest in this project and we will continue to keep the community informed as work progresses," Mr Davies said.
The old clinical services block was left vacant when Napier Hospital was closed in 1998 after the decision to relocate health services to the regional hospital in Hastings.
