The scary, but important job of raising teenagers has been made a bit easier - with Hawke's Bay's councils banding together to help parents make it through "the sometimes tricky teenage years".
Launched last month, there has been good uptake of the region-wide resource "Tools for the Teenage Years" designed by the four local authorities – Napier, Central Hawke's Bay, Hastings and Wairoa councils.
Napier City Council's community strategies manager Natasha Carswell said the booklet was a "short, snappy guide that brings all the information together in one resource, making it a great place to start when you are wanting to know what the facts are".
The tool includes new topics and provides helpful tips and information on everything from cyber safety, careers to relationships, and which agencies and websites can help parents navigate these years with their teen.
Clive resident and mother of three teens Catherine Burgess said the resource was well worth a look.
