Holistic health company BePure, founded by local leading clinical nutritionist Ben
Warren, is making bold moves in innovation for health.

It's opened the new BePure laboratory in Hastings and has taken its health clinic offering online.

Warren said the laboratory is the first of its kind in New Zealand, allowing BePure to offer its clients at home functional health testing.

"We've found that functional health testing is one of the most important tools to support people's health in our clinic programmes," Warren said.

"It's an incredibly progressive and effective way to gain transparency into what's happening inside our clients' bodies, taking the guesswork out of their health."

However, these tests were costing clients close to $600 a pop and took 5-6 weeks for results to be returned from overseas labs. This meant they were both too expensive and "hugely time consuming".

Maintaining its home in the sunny Hawke's Bay, BePure opened its own logistics
warehouse in Napier, to manage shipments of products, along with the new laboratory in Hastings.

"I live with my family in Havelock North and our local community has
always been a huge supporter of the company. Maintaining parts of our business in the Bay is important to me and, I believe, is a big factor to our growth and success."

The laboratory is staffed by a team of PhD scientists with Warren at the helm.

"We've developed five tests so far. These cover testing your hormones, adrenal function,
gut and liver, nutrients and energy, along with your sleep, mood and oxidative stress.

"All of this paints a very reliable picture for what's actually happening inside someone's body, allowing us to make much more informed decisions around the advice and support we give clients on our programmes.

"We're really proud to have developed a complete end to end framework for supporting clients' health".
