Havelock North Primary Principal, Nick Reed said it would be an "evening of family fun with stage entertainment, competitions, face painting, glow sticks, bouncy castle, zorb balls, coconut shy, candy floss and much much more."
"It is fundraising for a shade area for the school as we have recently had a building upgrade and lost some shade areas," Mr Reed said.
Mid Life Crisis will be on stage with The Hits 89.5, Batucada drummers as the evening's entertainment.
Despite rain forecast for the morning, Mr Reed was hopeful the weather would be on their side, having never postponed the event in its history.
The fireworks display will kick off at 9pm.
"We look forward to a well-supported event. It has been organised thoroughly by the Home and School Committee who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes."
Tickets are available from Havelock North Primary office, i-site Hastings and Havelock North, Tumu ITM Havelock North, Arthur Miller School, Taradale Primary School and Bay Plaza Pharmacy.
There will also be limited tickets at the gate.
An estimated $20,000 worth of fireworks will be let off at Speedway and Fireworks Spectacular at Meeanee Speedway tomorrow.
Event promoter, Bruce Robertson said people should expect plenty of action on the track as well as a spectacular fireworks display to end the night.
"It is a great attraction as people love fireworks, plus there will be SuperStocks, Streetstocks, Stockcars, Ministocks, Saloons, and Sidecars."
He said less and less people were choosing to have fireworks at home due to the cost and convenience of it.
"It is far more sensible to spend $60 on a family pass for two children and two adults rather than spending a lot more money on a feeble box of fireworks that are gone in a flash."
