Harcourts Hawke's Bay residential sales consultant Brayden Coldicutt has become Harcourts New Zealand's Most Promising Auctioneer of the Year.
The 22-year-old entered the Novice Auctioneer's Championship at the Harcourts National Conference last month, competing against eight others from around the country.
To be entered into the novice competition, the competitors must have called fewer than 10 property auctions. While Coldicutt has done a few charity auctions, he has never called a "real-life" auction before.
The competition involved an "eight minute call" from start to finish, where competitors had to choose a property to auction, complete the introductions, legal description, and answer two random questions as well as complete the bidding sequence.
After competing on May 21, it was announced at the annual awards dinner on May 23 that he had taken the title.
