Hawke's Bay fencing contractor Tony Bouskill has won the World Power Fencing Title in Germany — a title won by his father just four years ago.
Bouskill, 29 this week, was among competitors from 7 countries in the two-hour fence-off two hours at Dietmannsried early yesterday New Zealand time.
He won a shot at the World title when he won national championship the Golden Pliers for the first time at the National Farm Fieldays at Mystery Creek, near Hamilton, last June.
Father and four-times Golden Pliers winner Shane Bouskill won the World event at Zaunbauen, also in Germany, in 2015 but was beaten in his defence of the title two years later.
The title had twice previously been won by Paul Van Beers, of Porangahau. Tony Bouskill last month won the Norwood New Zealand Rural Sportsman of the Year title, a first for farm fencing.
