Hawke's Bay can expect a fine Easter weekend weather-wise but drivers are warned to take care as it will take a turn for the worst at the end of the long weekend.
MetService meteorologist Kyle Lee warns drivers to take care on Monday as heavy rain is expected to hit most parts of Hawke's Bay.
"Monday is where the rain really hits, people can expect showers for most of the day but also patches of heavy falls will come and go during the day," Lee said.
"It's not the best time to have it, especially with it being the end of the long weekend and so many people will be travelling on the roads, so drivers will need to drive to the conditions."
The rest of the weekend is set to be much better and should be fine enough for some family outings and day trips, but it may pay to take a jacket with you.
