A haven for sick and vulnerable birds in Hawke's Bay is running out of food.
Hawke's Bay Bird and Wildlife Rescue takes in any bird that needs help but relies heavily on donations.
Founder Liv Flynn said this time of year was especially busy with chicks being brought in and food supplies, as well as feeding tubes, had started to run low.
"Coming into this season we have a whole lot of birds coming in," she said.
This time of year is much busier than any other because lots of eggs are found by farmers while mowing and are brought in.
