A 2km oil spill created havoc on Puketapu Rd, causing a number of near misses with traffic yesterday.
Police said the spill, hydraulic oil from a machine, occurred outside the Puketapu pub about 4pm.
A stretch of road outside the bar was closed briefly while the main spill was contained.
